When asked if art is important and if it helped them (whether it be making them more creative, better at drawing, etc.) they unanimously answered yes.
What have you learned in art, like have you read any books, learned about animals, learned about colors?
"We learned about colors and shadows"
"We learned about summer, shadows and colors. The primary colors are red, yellow and...blue."
"Seasons and shadows"
The students all agreed that people should be able to take art if they wanted.
The kindergarteners though enthusiastic could only give me simple answers. However their excitement, smiles and hard works showed me their love for the class and the subject,

First Grade
All five first graders enjoyed or loved art, as well as agreeing that all students should be able to take art class because it "makes people more creative."
How does art help you?
" It helps me think of ideas that I can paint. Like if it’s a person I can have an idea of what to put with it." and the other four said it made them more creative and that it helps them with projects.
What have you learned in this class about other subjects like reading or science? Have you read books or looked up stuff?
"Yes. She taught me how to make a pinch pot. She's read us books."
"I love reading. She read us a book by Eric Carle. It was about a rooster."
"Yes, she taught us about history, like with artists. We have read some books."
The students, in both grades, received excellent hands-on, step-by-step instructions teaching them how to do the projects. They learned patience, vocabulary and more, all with the added benefit of having fun while doing it.
